Today we shine the Staging Success Spotlight on Stacy Goade and Shelley Mistelbacher.
Congratulations go to Staging Diva Graduate Stacy Goade of Alaska Premier Home Staging on completing her first home staging project for a FSBO seller. His home was on the market for 60 days with one call of interest. After the initial home staging consultation and joint staging efforts to implement Stacy’s plan, it sold for full asking price in just 25 days!
This is more proof that home staging DOES transform an upfront investment into a profitable home sale!
A further “congratulations” is due to Stacy Goade as the July winner in the Stages of Success™ Contest.
If you’d like to win $25 in August, post one of your Stages of Success on The Staging Diva Facebook Wall. Each month, we’ll draw one name at random from our Facebook Fans who have posted.
The winner receives a $25 coupon redeemable on any purchase of $25 or more from the Staging Diva Store.
You don’t have to be a Staging Diva Graduate to enter! My goal is to give the Staging Diva community a chance to help you celebrate a milestone in your journey as a home stager. All you need is a sentence or two, not a whole long story. In fact, it couldn’t get much easier than this!
> If you already have a success to celebrate, click here to post it to the Staging Diva Facebook Wall. Please do it now while you remember. You could have $25 next month in return for the minute it will take you to post this now!
Don’t you just love stories about people who were doing something that came naturally to them, and then they realized there was an actual career doing that very thing. Such was the case for Staging Diva Graduate Shelley Mistelbacher of Lift Home Staging and Design in Stouffville, Ontario.
She shares her personal and inspiring story here (I bet you’ll see some parallels in your own life):
“A few years ago I helped my father get his home ready for sale. I walked around his home and gave him suggestions on how to make the home look better so that ‘everyone’ would love it. I took down our family photos, rearranged the furniture and made sure the bathrooms had fresh, clean coordinating towels. I asked him to go out and purchase fresh flowers and told him to make sure everything looked ‘spotless’.
Little did I know at the time that that was my first staging job! I didn’t get paid for it and I didn’t even know that there was a career choice like this one. It didn’t occur to me until the agent said, ‘You should be a Home Stager’!!
After hearing that I could make money doing something that is this much fun, challenging and rewarding all at the same time, I realized that THIS is the path I wanted to follow. I took some more time at home to be with my children, and now that they are older, I finally decided to pursue my dream and be one of the very few people in the world who truly LOVE WHAT THEY DO! It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to say that.
I had heard about other home staging courses, but through all of them, the Staging Diva kept coming back to me because it’s not like all the rest.
The Staging Diva Program is like the old saying: ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and he’ll eat forever.’ Debra is wise in realizing that if you already know how to decorate a room, you know how to stage a home. That’s only a small portion of Home Staging. It’s how to run your business successfully that is what will keep you around for the long haul.
I absolutely LOVE what I do, so thanks Debra, you made my dream job come true. The Staging Diva Program is helping me achieve my goals because the program isn’t about how to decorate a home, it’s about how to become a success through running your own Home Staging business. Thanks to Debra, I have the knowledge of how to market my business for success.”
