I always find the Back to School season makes me much more aware of the passage of time than January or my own birthday does. When we look at our kids, it’s hard not to marvel at what grade they’re going into and the new phase of their lives about to begin.
I’m proud of how far my child has come and all the newly-found independence, but at the same time I long for that little hand that was in my hand as we walked down the street not so many years ago.
Being a parent is certainly the most meaningful thing I’ve done in my life but a close second is being an entrepreneur. That wasn’t always the case, as you’ll read in this months posts and in the September issue of the Staging Diva Dispatch newsletter. For me, and many of my students I’ve spoken to, finding personal meaning has so much to do with making a difference to others—doing something that can change the course of someone’s life.
I’m serious about my mission of empowering and inspiring others to live their best life and I can’t tell you the satisfaction I get from watching my students go out into the world to build businesses that will not only feed their creative souls and reward them financially, but also make a difference to the clients they serve. You’ll read several examples of their successes this month.
I welcome your opinions and/or new story ideas and hope you enjoy this months posts. I challenge you to use this Back to School season to take stock of what new thing you can accomplish in your own life just as we watch the kids heading out with their new books and minds waiting to soak up knowledge and new experiences.
