Backstage with Debra in January 2011

By Debra Gould, The Staging Diva >>

The start of a new year always fills me with excitement for what lies ahead and I’ll introduce you to a number of new home stagers. One comes from a background in finance and stock trading, and the other is a former Air Force Officer!

There are lots of opportunities to build your home staging business right now, and home sellers have never needed our help more than they will this spring season (which begins in February for home stagers, by the way).

While their real estate agents say, “drop your price,” (which is money right out of the home seller’s pocket) we can say, “let me show you how I can help buyers fall in love with your house so they’ll want to buy it now.”

Which message do you believe a home seller will find more appealing?

I’m really excited about the new live training I have coming up this month. If you haven’t signed up already it’s not too late to grab your spot in the Take-Action Calls I’m hosting.

This is the ONLY time I’ll be hosting this training live this year and I’m only taking 25 students. Even if you can’t make it to all 3 live calls, you’ll get the recordings too! More on this below.

I was on a steep learning curve in December trying to find my way around Facebook’s Fan Pages. They’re also called Business Pages, which is where you’re supposed to post business-related stuff instead of on your personal profile. In this month’s posts, you’ll learn about the free special report I’ve created for my Facebook fans. I confess I find it funny saying “fans,” but hey that’s what they call it, right?

Last year I was a featured guest on an episode of HGTV’s The Decorating Adventures of Ambrose Price. If you missed watching me teach Ambrose how to stage a house, you can view a clip of it here. I’ve noticed his show is up for a second season starting this month in Canada, though I’m not sure about the US.

Please keep your opinions and story ideas coming! My goal with these posts is to share inspiring ideas and tips that will help you in your staging business— whether you’re totally new at this or you’ve been a home stager for awhile.

If you’re a Staging Diva Student or Graduate and you’d like me to write a free article about you, all you have to do is submit your info at this link. Why not take advantage of this opportunity to increase awareness for your staging business?

I hope you enjoy this month’s posts and I wish you all the best for 2011!
