Home Stagers, Stop Attaching Your Happiness to the Job Market

By Debra Gould, The Staging Diva >>

If you read anything about the job market it should be abundantly clear by now that we can’t rely on anyone else to create jobs for us, and that there’s no such thing as job security. According to Home Business Magazine, nearly 70% of home-based businesses succeed for at least 3 years(compared to 29% of outside business ventures).

So consider this:

  • If you don’t have a job right now, does it make more sense to put all your time and energy into finding one (which could easily take a year or more if you’re over 40), or would you be further ahead (and happier) putting that time and energy into building your own low-cost, home-based business?
  • If your spouse is out of work, or your family needs extra income, are you better off waiting for the economy to turn around, or will you get farther ahead by taking matters into your own hands and using your talents to make a living in your own business?

The average person spends 56,000 hours at work(that’s if you can get work). Would you rather enjoy all that precious life you’re exchanging for money, or just slog away waiting for retirement?

Home Office
You can run your staging business from your sunroom, a corner of your kitchen or an extra bedroom. You don't need to invest in inventory, hire employees or do any expensive advertising when you follow my step-by-step business formula.

For most people, the months fly by without attending to our goals and dreams. So each year, we’re pretty much in the same place we were last year. This month I challenge you to break free of that pattern. September is a wonderful time to take stock, make plans and take action.

Your dream doesn’t have to remain a fantasy buried in worry!

The way you break through the barrier is by making a commitment to yourself and then reinforcing that commitment by taking some small action right now to bring your dream into reality.

Will you have some fears about doing this? Of course you will! This doesn’t mean you have to quit before you’ve even begun! Doing anything that reallymatters always brings some fear mixed in with the excitement.

You have the power to make today meaningful. What will you do with your power?
