I discovered that getting involved in different creative adventures helps my home staging and business writing. I guess it’s like exercising a creative “muscle” in new ways.
Just like a personal trainer will keep changing up your exercise routine for maximum results, different creative projects keep us fresh.
This summer, I’ve been writing new jokes and performing Stand Up Comedy in a competition. I also took a beginner sculpture course. I’m no Rodin, but I’m still proud of what I came up with.
Another of my creative pursuits, cooking, is a great analogy for what we do during a home staging consultation. Have you ever been stumped by what to make for dinner and you come up with a crazy invention out of whatever you can find in the fridge and pantry?
That’s how I often feel in a home staging consultation.

There is no one perfect answer to how to stage a particular house. You will come up with your unique solution based on what you have to work with.
As long as it’s better than what was there before, your client is getting value from your services.
Never doubt your God-given talent.
Whether you are brand new to home staging, or you’ve been at it for years, remember that most people cannot do what comes naturally to you.
Start with a single idea in your home staging consultation, and the rest of the solution will flow from there.
