Home Staging Doesn’t Have to Feel Like Work

By Debra Gould, The Staging Diva >>

“Spring has passed. Summer is gone. And the song I meant to sing remains unsung. For I have spent my days stringing and restringing my instrument.” ~ Rabindranath Tingore

The days are getting shorter, and the temperatures are dropping. As the leaves start to turn, and I get closer to turning 56 this month, I’m incredibly aware of the passage of time.

Which is why I shared the quote about unfulfilled destiny with you this month.

One of my biggest fears is waking up one day and realizing it’s too late to:

–  Do what I might have done.
–  Be what I could have become.
–  Feel the joy that was missing most of my life, but that I had the power to create for myself.

So I continue to dream up new home staging business and marketing ideas. Write new articles and try my hand at entirely new creative projects.

Last week, I joined a Hip Hop Dance class. It’s completely fun, even though I’m 30+ years older than everyone else.

One of the benefits of aging is you care less what people think. Meaning I’m probably one of the least self-conscious people in the room, even though I do feel shorter, older, fatter and less physically flexible.

But that’s not an excuse to quit. Then I’d miss out on all the joy.

As we head into the last 3 months of 2105, my challenge to you is to continue to push yourself out of your comfort zone.

We only have one life, let’s make it an adventure!

You will never feel totally ready. So don’t make the mistake of “stringing and restringing your instrument” instead of just getting out there and playing.

A home staging consultation really is a lot like play.

You experiment with how to rearrange what’s already there. You play with what you can tell your client to get rid of. You imagine what you might add. Perhaps some throw cushions and art.

As you continue to play, you’ll find the answers start to flow. Stay loose and remember it doesn’t have to feel like work.

This month:

Be the first to grab a f’ree pass to a mini course I’m offering live by telephone conference call on Oct 13.

You’ll also learn:

– When it’s time to put on your “blue suede shoes”.

– How to create a color palette from nature.

– How to make your Home Staging life easier.

– About the latest home staging job posting.

Keep your comments and questions coming. I’m always looking for new topics to address in Home Staging Business Report.

Wishing you every success in your home staging business, and this bigger thing called life.
